With over 35 years’ experience in the business and as the premiere name in comedy, The Comedy Store is renowned as a breeding ground for new talent, and remains the place to see stars of the future.
The likes of Eddie Izzard, John Bishop, Jimmy Carr, Rhod Gilbert and Sarah Millican have all cut their teeth with us.
This month’s line-up includes sets from:
Rob Deering is the UK’s foremost guitar-wielding, loop-layering stand-up comedian, along with being one of the most in-demand headliners on the UK circuit. He has toured nationally and performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe many times since starting out in comedy in the year 2000. Rob has appeared on Radio and TV shows, often using his extensive knowledge of film, popular music, even as far as to win Celebrity Mastermind and a comedians’ special of the Weakest Link. He also recently ran all over Britain for BBC 6 Music and presents the podcast Running Commentary with fellow running comic Paul Tonkinson.
Tom Wrigglesworth is an established stand-up comedian, radio and TV presenter from Sheffield. With a disarmingly charming delivery and unforgettable appearance, this Yorkshire funny man became a national have-a- go-hero when he rescued a little old lady from the jaws of a Virgin train ticket inspector; only to be arrested for begging. His subsequent story of the event secured Tom several awards including the Chortle Best Show Award, and a nomination for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award. He is now firmly established as one of the most original, talented and respected comedians on the UK and International comedy circuit.
Darius Davies is a seasoned performer first cutting his teeth in 2007 in the comedy clubs of New York city. Success quickly followed as Darius won an MTV New Talent contest, opening the door for Darius to strut his stuff on MTV America. Alas due to “visa irregularities” Darius soon found himself back, and uncelebrated in London. A distinct voice in a sea of ubiquity – Darius is fearless in his belief in what is funny and forging his own path. This is high energy, captivating stand up comedy fuelled with passion, soul and wit.
Rich Wilson is a multi-award-winning comedian and podcast host. For the first 10 years of his comedy career, Rich cut his comedic teeth at all of the UK’s major comedy clubs and has remained a steadfast presence on the British comedy circuit ever since. Host of Insane in the Men Brain, where he talks to funny and interesting people about their experiences with mental health, featuring interviews with Heston Blumenthal, Michael Smiley, Scroobius Pip and many more. Rich has been around the world with sell-out shows at the biggest comedy festivals such as Melbourne, Perth and New Zealand.
