Gala Lunchtime Concert (April)

Andrea Vicari Trio

Jazz pianist and composer Andrea Vicari, alongside Andy Champion on bass and Abbie Finn on drums, will be presenting a concert with a focus on female jazz composers. Andrea will be presenting their music with some historical content and their stories. The performance will showcase music from the likes of May Lou Williams, Dorothy Ashby and Carla Bley.

In addition Andrea will play some new material from her new album  ‘The Bean’ out on the Inequations label. This is Andrea’s 8th album under her own name and the music on this album features various grooves inspired by unusual drum patterns and groupings. The result is direct, funky with some catchy melodies and strong bass lines.
