“The past is the present, isn’t it? It’s the future too. We all try to lie our way out of that but life won’t let us.”
Summer 1912: the Tyrones gather in the family home on the coast of New England. After years of separation they are reunited again, full of hope for the future. But as day passes into night their love will be tested to the utmost as the ghosts of the past come to haunt them and they all are drawn back into a past they hoped to escape.
Durham-based Elysium Theatre Company return to Gala Durham with the first ever production of Eugene O’Neill’s masterpiece to be played in the City. Join us for a once in a lifetime chance to see one of the greatest plays ever written on our home ground.
