Great Scott!
In the summer of 1985, Robert Zemeckis’s Back To The Future sent audiences hurtling through time in a DeLorean.
Just over forty years later, Marty, Doc, Biff, and that unmistakable score are coming back to the big screen, fully remastered, for one night only.
Following on from last year’s fantastic Jaws 50th Anniversary night, this special screening marks the launch of The Blockbuster Era: When Movies Became Events, a brand new programme at Gala Durham.
So charge the flux capacitor, set the time circuits for Saturday 5 September 2026, and join us for a night that’s heavy…heavy on nostalgia.
Return to Hill Valley: In Conversation With…
Before Marty plugs in his guitar, relive the magic with Pascal Fintoni, founder of the Film Marketing Academy and film marketing consultant, as he looks back at how Back To The Future’s campaign helped shape the blockbuster era we still live in today; and Paul Stainthorpe, award-winning filmmaker and founder of Hazy Pine Pictures, who will share stories from his own pilgrimage to the film’s iconic locations, alongside rare insights into one of the most beloved films ever made.
Together, Pascal and Paul will explore the making, marketing and enduring legacy of Back To The Future with fresh perspectives, a few surprises, and a fun celebration of ’80s cinema!
Back To The Future – Special Screening
Whether you’ve seen it many times or it’s your first trip in the DeLorean, this is Back To The Future as it was meant to be experienced: fully remastered, with that Huey Lewis sound turned right up, and on the big screen where it belongs.
Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.
