Musical Director: Beauty and the Beast
Gala Durham is looking for a Musical Director to work with us to deliver our pantomime, Beauty and the Beast.
Arrangements will be provided in advance by the Musical Supervisor but the MD should be an excellent keyboard player capable of conducting the band and cast for all performances with experience of using MainStage and QLab in a live application.
Responsibilities will include teaching and rehearsing all musical numbers with the company, liaising with the Director and Musical Supervisor regarding any additional music required for the production and playing keyboard, conducting and maintaining a high standard throughout the performance run.
Who can apply?
We are looking for applications from MDs who have experience of working on large productions and are based in the UK. We would particularly like to hear from MDs who are based in the North East.
You should have strong collaborative skills, experience of working with creative teams and within a busy producing environment.
You should have a strong track record of delivering projects to agreed timescales and parameters.
It would be beneficial for you to have experience of working on panto.
The fee will be in line with UK Theatre / MU rates.
Key dates
Deadline to apply 12.00pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an informal discussion the week beginning 1 July 2024.
Rehearsals will take place from 28 October to 20 November 2024.
The production will take place from 21 November to 31 December 2024.
