Academy Award nominee and Tony Award Winner Lesley Manville stars in this acclaimed Cold War thriller.
Tightly wound British academic Joan, played by the always excellent Manville, travels to Cold War-era Warsaw to deliver a paper on the treatment of psychiatric illness. Once in Poland, the professor is surprisingly caught in between a student uprising and escalating assassinations as authorities call in martial law.
This immersive cat-and-mouse thriller is inspired by the short story by Booker Prize and Nobel Prize winning author Olga Tokarczuk.
