Following recent concerns raised about the future of the Gala Theatre Stage School (GTSS), we want to reassure you about our plans moving forward.
GTSS provides a wonderful experience for young people who want to create musical theatre productions and has been supporting children and young people for almost 20 years. We fully understand how important it is to all those who attend and their families.
We want our arts to be accessible to all and believe there is also now an opportunity to support a more inclusive, vibrant and diverse performing arts offer, that will help more young people to develop skills in writing, directing and stagecraft. We also want to establish stronger links to training and skills development for those who may want to pursue a career in the creative sector.
This is about opening up opportunities to more young people so we do need to review our current programme to achieve this.
As you know the current stage school programme is paused due to the pandemic restrictions but we are working to establish when and how it can re-open safely.
We will also keep you updated with our plans in due course.
