Based on the book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist by Jack El-Hai, Nuremberg follows the true story of the titular court trials held by the Allies after the end of World War II.
Douglas Kelley, an American psychiatrist, is left in charge of deciding whether Nazi prisoners at Nuremberg prison are fit to stand trial for their crimes during the war – among them Hermann Göring, Hitler’s right-hand man.
Soon, the two enter a battle of wits, with Göring vowing to ‘escape the hangman’s noose’ for the atrocities he was part of while Kelley is desperate to make sure the right people take accountability for their actions.
As part of our work to make Gala Durham as accessible as possible for all, audio description headsets will be offered on every film screening for those who are visually impaired.
If you plan to visit our cinema during Lumiere Durham (Thursday 13 to Saturday 15 November), please plan your journey and allow extra time for travel.
